MANUFACTURER’S UPDATES
<b Early Wolseley clippers started with the Wolseley “Pedigree” Mark I model: around the mid 1960’s and was succeeded a few years later with the Wolseley “Pedigree” Mark II model:

These machines where of a black bakelite composition and some had white or cream coloured heads.

In the early 1980’s the Wolseley “Pedigree” Mark I & II model: were replaced with the Wolseley “Swift” Mark I model:

Please note:
NO PARTS are available for either of the two Wolseley “Pedigree” models:

The Wolseley “Swift” Mark I model: started production as a 70w motor powered machine and like another similar Wolsely makes of the day was soon set to
become one of the then UK’s most successful and widely used machines – especially for horse clipping.

Our understanding is that the “Swift” Mark I model was in production up to Serial number 66170, there after the Mark II model was introduced. (Approximately 2004)

The “Swift” Mark I can be distinguished by the on/off switch on the top under the thumb and has two air filters – top and bottom of the body casing.

A reliable way to distinguish between both the “Swift” Mark I and Mark II models is to unscrew the clipper head from the clipper body. (Make sure the clipper is disconnected from the mains power supply!) Then count the gear wheel teeth (See the image on the left of your screen for location)

The “Swift” Mark I has a total of 40 teeth

The “Swift” Mark II a total of 38 teeth

Regrettably all “Swift” Mark I models are totally non-repairable

Wolseley “Swift” Mark II model – on/off switch on the upper body casing
Wolseley “Swift” Mark III model – on/off switch on side of the lower body casing
