German made shearing machine engineered to give a highly reliable performance. Unfortunately as it is not more widely advertised in livestock circles too few people appreciate it's potential and value. The innovative design style featured around a slim shaped hand piece and incorporates a combination of balance and lightness.

A heavy-duty machine, with a unique motor design, smooth running, with low noise level and virtually vibration free and will shear all day without over heating due to the improved ventilation system. Fitted with internal electronic speed control with overload protection.

The high cutting strokes per minute ensure the operator precision shearing to the highest standards. Fitted with all round air filters at the rear of the hand piece it is an easy machine to service and clean. Once set up and correctly tensioned, which takes but a few moments, the machine is a joy to shear with, and it will keep shearing away all day if regularly lubricated. GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
This powerful German machine is engineered to perfection resulting in absolute professional reliability. Powered by a newly designed permanent energised motor, it is renowned for its lightweight, ultra slim handling ability and is a delight to operate.

With low noise level and with almost no vibration the new engine design results in low energy output, and a greater degree of operational quietness. Double insulated. The speed output is virtually constant between idle running and clipping. Blade tensioning as with all machines is all-important to achieve the best shearing results, and this requires "fine tuning" rather than over tensioning. Regular applications of oil are important to keep the aluminium head cool.

With most motor in the hand piece shearing machines being bulky and heavy by nature, it is a pleasure to find the Hauptner 2000 "breaking the mould" As a result it is a popular choice due to the comfortable handling, slim handpiece, shorter length and lightweight feel. Perfect for the smaller hand, it is an excellent machine for cleaning cattle, clipping alpacas, as well as shearing sheep.

One cautionary note. When we tried to fit Lister and Heiniger cutters and combs on the test model they did not fit. Maybe our machine or the cutters and comb were at fault. The distributor assures us however they do take both makes of blades. If however they don't fit then the cutter and comb blade range is very limited.

The powerful 170-watt motor producing an ultra efficient heavy-duty appliance, affording the operator many hours of reliable clipping and is cool running even in prolonged situations Ideal for cleaning up cattle, especially if fitted with a "Wizard "blade, which also clips sheep.

Features include easy maintenance, 5 meters of hard-wearing two core rubber sheathed cable, double insulation and built in thermal over load. Lister's extensive range of cutters and combs deal with most tasks, alternatively Heiniger offer an even greater and often less expensive alternative selection. We understand a cattle head can be fitted to this machine - alternatively fit a "wizard" blade, which will clip both sheep and cattle. This blade is especially useful for those with dirty store cattle. 12v model identical, other than for crocodile clips for battery use.

The down side? The weight, noise and a less than comfortable hand grip especially once your hands have picked up some of the oily lanolin off the fleeces! Today thankfully there are alternatives!

The combination of American practical sheep farming experience and improved design features in co-operation with high quality German engineering brings to the market place a truly remarkable shearing machine of its type.

Modelled on the already highly popular Hauptner 2000 and resulting in an improved machine of the highest quality. Innovative design features have produced additional power, slimmer handgrip and lighter weight. A newly designed head has resulted in a cooler running motor with less noise and greater energy efficiency.

Whilst the "Spitfire" cutter and "Blackhawk" "Phantom" and "Spirit" combs are available it is recommended to use the European Lister and Heiniger cutter and comb range. The Spirit" comb looks a useful blade to use on dirty cattle with 13 teeth it has a good open spread between teeth.

With its ultra slim lined hand piece this machine is the ultimate in comfort and ease when shearing either in numbers or just for a small pedigree flock. Considerably less expensive than the Hauptner 2000 it will be sought after by many lady flock persons who will enjoy the slim handgrip unique to these two machines. With the ability to use the full range of Heiniger as well as Lister cutters and combs there will be few if any shearing tasks this appliance cannot ably cope with.

The "Premier" sheep hand piece whilst appearing interchangeable with a Hauptner shearing head should not be attempted since both the Hauptner cattle/horse and sheep heads do not have aligned portholes to allow the air to be exited. Any attempt at mixing the two will result in overheating within a few minutes of use.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:

Made in Germany and intended for the professional user, this machine looks identical to the Premier 3000s model, however where the 4000s model differs is that it has a slight (approximately 15%) increase in power, resulting from the tighter winding of the armature. This increased power output results in a smoother cut as well as an increase in "animal throughput" in the hands of the professional. With the resulting increase in power, there is a need to be mindful of the importance of regular lubrication! (This is important with all makes of clippers!)

Re-designed air ducts within the head, have improved both cooling and air discharge and has vastly improved air flow, reducing any expulsion of air to a minimum, with the motor remaining cool when under prolonged clipping. The noise factor due to the added power output is slightly up on the 3000c model we tested, but is still well within the boundaries of a "low noise" machine compared to many clippers around.
