GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Aesculap Econom Plus has a long established and unrivalled reputations amongst the black and white dairy cattle showmen, as well as many beef exhibitors and horse owners.
It is considered a perfect machine for the contractor/owner who need versatility and reliability. The innovative design style featuring a slim shaped handpiece incorporates a combination of balance and lightness, to ensure the operator precision clipping to the highest standards. Excellent design features, which include a "locking" nut to hold the tensioning of the blades.
A heavy-duty machine, with a unique motor design, reasonably quiet, smooth running and vibration free it will clip all day without over heating. Fitted with all round air filters at the rear of the handpiece it is an easy machine to service and clean. Tensioning of the blades may need to be practised, especially if you do not use the machine a lot, although in fairness if you know what you are doing and allow for the finesse of tensioning it really very easy!
Spare parts can be a touch pricey, but if you want real quality you have to pay that bit extra! A sheep head to covert into a shearing machine can be obtained as an optional extra, and is easily fitted. Few machines in the heavy-duty section can equal the Aesculap Econom Plus ll on the range of blades, which it accepts, (including the Heiniger and Stewart Oster blade ranges.) making this machine capable of virtually any clipping task required.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
German made horse/cattle clipper engineered to perfection for absolute professional reliability. When Hauptner created the "2000" a new generation of clippers was born! For the first time a manufacturer had taken note of the needs of the end user and produced the goods!
Powered by a newly designed permanent energised motor. Renowned for its lightweight, ultra slim handling ability, with low noise level and with almost no vibration the new engine design results in low energy output which gives a greater degree of operational quietness. Double insulated. The speed output is virtually constant between idle running and clipping. Air fan vents have been designed to avoid blasting hair all over the operator, which was an annoying feature of the 07 models.
Tensioning of the blades is all-important to achieve the best clipping results, and this requires "fine tuning" rather than over tensioning. Horse owners who do not do a lot of clipping would be well advised to learn the art of tensioning - not that it is difficult - but it does require serious practice!
Regular applications of oil are important to keep the aluminium head cool. Oiling every few minutes is important and requires being a discipline one adheres to - as is the case with most clippers. Correctly operated this machine produces some highly impressive "quality" clips.
The Hauptner 2000 is rightly a very popular choice with most ladies due to the comfortable handling, slim handpiece, shorter length and lightweight feel. The machine is an absolute pleasure to use. Perfect for the smaller hand.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
The first three-speed heavy-duty clipper of its type, principally for cattle but also for horses machine. Made by Heiniger, a highly precision made machine, incorporating a number of new features designed to improve operational effectiveness. With the ability to be able to select one of three clipping speeds it will be appreciated by operators in many clipping theatres. A reliable machine, and which one rarely sees back for repair work.
The major feature of this machine is the clipping flexibility resulting from the adjustable three-speeds, which allows you to select either 2100/2800 or 3200 rpm. The powerful 180w motor is housed within a glass fibre reinforced polyamide body to reduce weight and operational fatigue. The special ventilation design directs hair away from the operator. At a touch over 12 inches the clipper has the appearance of being some what long and bulky and a touch "awesome" for many lady operators, however at 1.6 kilos it is perhaps not as heavy as its appearance would suggest.
Features such as easy maintenance, and the ability to be able to use both the Aesculap, Oster-Stewart, DeLaval and Supershear full blade range extends widely the clipping capabilities of this product both in the cattle and horse fields.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
German made machine, very well engineered with reliable performance. The powerful motor producing 30,000 rpm when not under load gives a smooth low-level running sound. The aluminium head housing has a special dual purpose ventilating system for motor, gearbox and the cutters and combs.
The gearbox has a double step gear, which is capsuled against dust and hair with the gears being permanently lubricated by the new "whispering" oscillating cutter drive system. A sheep head (optional extra) can be fitted with ease within a few minutes, giving the machine extra versatility.
An attractive machine rather spoilt, in our opinion, by a clipper head, which is best described as being more like a sheep head as on a shearing machine. We feel this gives the impression of being bulky and not of "easy handling!" From an engineering point it may well have good merits, but from the end users point it appears unnecessarily bulky and weight.
We continue to remain critical of any clippers with the on/off switch located in the rear. We believe this is detrimental to the operator's safety in an emergency situation especially when large and sometimes unpredictable animals are involved.

A big powerful German made machine with a history of good solid reliable performance and nice quality clips, but for ladies clipping horses this is a bulky machine which you will be fed up with after an hour or more of clipping!
Good machine for the commercial farmer for cleaning up cattle, and one of the easiest to put a sheep head on for an hour or so of dagging!
At 2000 double cutting strokes per minute and even fitted with a new 20 blade fan we feel the motor is still too noisy for many horses. A reduction in the weight of around 15% helped to reduce what was a heavy appliance of the "old school" type machines.
Fitted with an aluminium head housing, this clipper has a unique dual purpose ventilating system, which effectively cools the motor, gearbox and the cutters and comb. The completely capsuled gearbox protects against dust and hair with the gears being permanently lubricated under vacuum. An oil distributor in the clipper head leads the oil to where it is most required. Slide out air filter makes for easy cleaning.
The on/off switch is located on the side at the rear and is not readily accessible in relation to operator's safety in an emergency situation especially where large and unpredictable animals are involved.

A well-engineered powerful clipper, with a long history of reliable performance.
Having been around a good few years it has stood the test of time, and one sees few back in for repairs. The powerful 170-watt motor producing an ultra efficient heavy-duty clipper, which will afford the operator many hours of reliable clipping and is cool running even in prolonged situations.
Useful for a commercial cattle farmer machine cleaning up cattle, especially if fitted with a "Wizard "blade, which also allows it to clip sheep. Features such as easy maintenance, 5 meters of hard-wearing two core rubber sheathed cable, double insulation and built in thermal over load gives added safety and peace of mind.
A sheep head can be fitted to this machine - alternatively fit a "wizard" blade, which will clip both sheep and cattle. Especially useful for those with dirty store cattle.
However that apart, it is awesome in size, uncomfortable to hold, noisy, and of a weight few users will feel entirely comfortable with, especially if you able to compared it with a selection of other more user friendly clippers.
Ladies clipping horses will find that after an hour or more of clipping with such a heavy machine they would appreciate a lighter clipper.

Made in Germany and modelled on the acclaimed Hauptner 2000, which was proving itself probably one of the most popular heavy duty clipper of all times - until the arrival of the Premier 3000, the improved specification of the Premier 3000c was a step further toward the ultimate clipping perfection!
Whilst appearing virtually identical to the Hauptner 2000, there are important differences, in weight, noise level and power. By re-designing the air ducts within the head, both cooling and air discharge have been vastly improved to the extent that one hardly feels any expulsion of air, and the motor remains cool when under prolonged clipping. The reduction of noise factor was marked in the model we tested and has been reduced from the levels of the Hauptner 2000, which itself, is one of the quieter machines around.
A useful feature of this machine is its ability to use current Lister blades, in addition to its own range, thereby reducing substantially the higher retail price of traditional Hauptner blades, which together with the attractive and competitive price of the clipper make it highly affordable to the majority of horse owners.
The machine is a pleasure to clip with, and unlike the Hauptner 2000 it is very simple to tension - providing you read and follow the instructions, and will power away all day clipping horse after horse. Several model are in use with professional contractors clipping in excess of 500 horses per season. Equally many farmers now have the Premier for herds of over 200 head of cattle.
With several thousand unit now sold in the UK one is impressed at the level of reliability with a mere handful being returned for repair, indeed almost all of those as a result of end user abuse. As is so often the cause of many repairs amongst all makes of clippers - lack of sufficient oiling at regular intervals being the main cause.
This machine clearly has the potential to be the "outstanding clipper of the period", and one, which has already been recognised as a "threat" by other manufacturers!
Each year an increasing number of overseas purchases of this clipper are made, both in Europe and Australia.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Made in Germany and intended for the professional user with large numbers to clip, rather than the owner of one or two horses, or a few house cows. With smaller numbers you should select the Premier 3000c - even that can cope with plenty of work!
The 4000c machine looks identical to the Premier 3000c model, however where the 4000c model differs is that it has approximately a 15% increase in power, as a result of a tighter winding of the armature. This increased power - 2700 cutting strokes per minute - results in a smoother cut and will provide an increase in "animal throughput" in the hands of the professional user.
With the resulting increase in power, there is a need to be mindful of the importance of regular lubrication of the blades! However the professional user will be aware of the importance of keeping any type of clipper well lubricated so it is unlikely to be a problem.
Re-designed air ducts within the head, have improved both cooling and air discharge and has vastly improved air flow, reducing any expulsion of air to a minimum, with the motor remaining cool when under prolonged clipping. The noise factor due to the added power output is slightly up on the 3000c model we tested, but is still well within the boundaries of a "low noise" machine compared to many clippers around.
A useful feature of the machine is its ability to use Lister blades, in addition to its own range, thereby reducing substantially the higher retail price of traditional Hauptner blades, which together with the attractive and competitive price of the clipper make it highly affordable to many professionals and commercial cattle farmers with large herds to clip.
The machine is remarkably easy to tension, just follow the simple instructions. This is a clipper, which will power away all day dealing with horse after horse, or yards full of cattle, producing a good crisp clean finish. Tramlines are rare, and if experienced are the confirmation that you have either not lubricated correctly, or have failed to get the correct tensioning.
For the professional or clipping contractor the Premier 4000 with it lightweight body and comfortable slim handgrip will be an irresistible purchase.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
If you like 'em big then this is the clipper! Not many can beat this one on size! Ideal for building up the arm muscles! However forget for a moment the size, this is a tough no nonsense "All-American" heavy-duty "State of the Union" machine which will cope with most things thrown at it. It is a pretty good buy when you consider the quality and the way in which it is packaged and supplied.
Certainly one of the most attractive carrying cases we have seen (Large enough to pack the "sandwiches" as well! On seeing the carrying case alone you would buy it! Great clipper for clipping contractors riding schools and big stables.
The superior engineering qualities ensure the smooth running and trouble free nature of this clipper and we rate it strongly as a "positive buy" for the average commercial user, (One rarely sees them back for breakdowns or repairs!) A snap out filter provides for easy cleaning. A "man sized" knob on the head assembly adjusts blade tensioning.
Despite the perhaps rather old-fashioned styling, and the two vast side "knobs" which protrude from the rear and house the carbon brushes, this is still a great no nonsense machine, whether used for cattle or horses. Buy one of these and it will probably out live your animals and you!

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Produced by Wolseley of the UK, another really well engineered machine but with a distinct "last century" look, which rather sums it up! Heavy and none too comfortable nor particularly quiet either, but in fairness it has a reputation for tolerating hard work.
In the days before the arrival of sleeker and lighter machines from Aesculap and Hauptner both the Falcon and the Harrier held a good proportion of market sale, and in fairness they do still hold on to some loyalty with many customers. But with successive years as new and more innovative clippers arrive from Europe and these continue to improve both in design, weight, and noise level, the Falcon and the Harrier continue to hold less and less appeal.
The "Falcon" is similar to the "Harrier" but due to the gearing design clips at a slightly faster speed and is therefore a suitable choice for those clipping stables and larger horse yards. The machine is fitted with a safety strap, and has a thermal overload cut out switch for added safety. The specially designed air baffle blows the hair away from the operator. The air-cooled motor and ventilated head ensures cool running and prolonged life.
A sheep-shearing head can be easily fitted by the removal of two screws. The sheep head must be fitted with Wolseley A5 blades only. This machine can be supplied in 110volts/140watt in complete kit with case if required.
