Make:LISTER Model:Laser Rating:170W Cutting strokes:2600 per min DO NOT!
Fitting the blades:Ensure the machine is disconnect from the power supply On the assumption that the machine has blades fitted at the time start at 1. if however blades are not fitted go to 2. 1. Unscrew fully the Tension nut and remove together with the tension spring. Then push the protruding bolt head down through the aperture and withdraw through the comb. (See Clipper body diagram) Rotate the machine 180 degrees and remove the comb blade by lifting it off the two blade lugs, next remove the cutter. 2 The machine should be rotated 180 degrees so that it is upside down. Before attaching the cutter blade apply a small amount of lubricant in the twin grooves along which the cutter moves.
Now take the comb and set it in place with the two comb peg pins positioned through the two holes in the rear of the blade (on a new machine this can be a little stiff in the beginning, but will ease with use.) Insert the tension bolt through the hole in the centre of the comb making sure it is embedded right through, then with your thumb/finger holding it secure, rotate the machine 180 degrees back to its normal position - upright. Replace the tension spring followed by the tension bolt and proceed to screw the nut clockwise until it starts to feel tight. (Proceed now to tension the blades as described below) Tensioning the blades:Having screwed down the tension nut until it is tight, according to the manufacturer's instruction if you now turn the tension nut anti-clockwise by one and a half turns you should have the tensioning at the correct setting. If for some reason the machine fails to clip smoothly it is highly likely you have not correctly adjusted the tensioning. You should increase/decrease the tension nut - but no more than ¼ turns or less at a time to achieve optimum cutting. In most cases failure to clip correctly is operator orientated rather than a fault with the machine. The tension nut top is marked with a line, which will assist in your noting the tension position for accuracy (See Clipper body diagram) IMPORTANT!If the blades fail to cut avoid any attempt to increase the pressure on the blades as this will lead to excessive heat build up and will rapidly cause the blades to overheat and become blunt. Keep your blades clean. The clipper will not cut if hair or dirt get between the blades. Keep blades regularly well oiled at all times. Remember blades can go blunt at a moment's notice due to high levels of dirt and grit with the animal's coat especially during the first clip of the season. ALWAYS HAVE A SECOND OR SPARE SET OF BLADES AVAILABLE BEFORE YOU START CLIPPING! In the case of even the best groomed horses unless they have previously wash there is likely to be considerable particles of grit which can cause blade failure. Be mindful that hair getting trapped between blades may interfere with the clipping performance. Remember blades must be sharpened as matched sets. Oiling:Oiling of blades can be carried out when the machine is running.or stationary. Oiling of the blades should be carried out at regular intervals during the clipping application. Use only good quality light machine oil. Routine Maintenance:Cutter headThis should be cleaned after use. Remove the blades and clean, next using a soft brush then clean thoroughly both the head and all of the components parts within. Reassemble the machine carefully and oil any moving parts. Storage:When not in use, having been thoroughly cleaned and oiled, the machine should be stored in a dry place preferably in your house. Do not leave in tack rooms or stables. The same should apply to all blades.
