The HISTORY of WOLSELEY "Harrier" models
We understand the original Wolseley "Harrier" clipper was launched many years ago around the 1960/70's with the original machine known as the "Princess" This machine was rated at 140 w.
Distinguishing features where:
Black body and head normally held on with a "collar"
The "Princess" is a discontinued model. Most parts are no longer available - however it is worth contacting us to see if we can offer any factory checked second hand parts.
The "Princess" was followed the Harrier Mark I version
Again a black body and head was normally secured to the body by a "collar"
This is a discontinued model with no parts available. However it is worth contacting us to see if we can offer any factory checked second hand parts.
The Harrier Mk I was the next model and on ceasing of production was replaced by what was known at the time as the "Green" Harrier - the Harrier Mark II
This machine had certain similarities in the features relating to Liscop type machines of the period, especially the head mechanism.
The distinguishing features of the Harrier Mk II:
Green body and head secured with two screws
We are advised by the manufacturer that the "Harrier" Mk III diagram may be used for Mk II parts identification.
The current model is the black bodied Harrier Mark III
Black body and head secured with two screws
CUSTOMER "QUICK" UP-DATES
The current Wolseley Harrier is the Mark III model.
The Wolseley "Princess" and Harriers "Mark I" and "Mark" II models are discontinued.
Parts for the Wolseley "Princess" - ARE NOT AVAILABLE
Parts for the Wolseley "Harrier" Mark I - LIMITED
Certain parts for the Wolseley "Harrier" Mark II continue to be obtainable as long as factory stocks remain available.
As certain Harrier Mk III parts can be used on the Harrier Mk I - Please check with us for further information as to which parts are available and can be used
When ordering a replacement clipper head gear wheel - check the number of teeth on your original gear wheel as some
machines were fitted with part number 50567 - a 29/13 toothed gear wheel, rather than the 29/11 toothed gear wheel -
part number 50845.
Some clipper heads do not have the washer part fitted (part number 50537)
Only replace the clipper head if the existing one is worn.
Part number 50543 has been discontinued
The condenser for Harrier Mk II and Swift Mk II models
Originally fitted with condenser with yellow markings.
This has been long since discontinued and replaced by another grey condenser.
However this is only available from machines where the condenser has been salavaged
If fouund the values are the same and the condenser works
New size condensers as used in Mk III models are too large to fit
