+ Smart, appealing and nicely produced with all the hallmarks of a good quality product. Many innovative design features. Ultra light, comfortable size, low noise level and cool running.
- Too new to have any established history. Many Laube clippers have suffered from various annoying problems, which tends to make one nervous about new additions! Hopefully this will not be the case with the "Speed"! Blades not suitable for re-sharpening.
GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
From Kim Laube Inc. USA, an attractive trimmer, of a superior quality, which we would not normally have associated with this manufacturer. A very smart machine with a number of innovative features, which if it remains devoid of the historical problems of other machines from this stable, it will be a very positive and popular purchases for many end users including many veterinary practices, equine and dog owners.
Essentially a trimmer rather than a clipper this is a very smart product with an instant "appeal" factor. It has the appearance of being well designed and well made. A powerful tripper with a high cutting stroke incorporating a highly innovative blade head with five blade depth cutting position ranging from #40 - #30 - #15 - #10 -# 9. A well-designed lever with a positive movement changes the cutting position. The blade head has a 4cm cutting face.
Supplied with two-nickel metal hydride batteries without the battery "memory" feature these each give a clip time of one hour per battery. The charger unit offer the unusual feature of either a standard (40 minutes) or fast (20 minutes) charge.
A selection of four solid and well made attachment combs are supplied and these slide securely over the blade head to allow for added cutting depth. A sensible and well-positioned on/off switch allows for instant operation by the users thumb. A red light glows when the trimmer is operational.
Lastly the trimmers and all its accessories are neatly packaged in a spacious, robust and well-designed plastic carrying case. Altogether a very smart trimmer and accessories.
Potentially a candidate for the "BUY" award, but it needs to get some form first!
PLEASE NOTE:
The blade supplied with the Speed trimmer is NOT a blade, which can be re-sharpen.
Once blunt it should be disposed of in a suitable manner, and a new blade purchased.

- If what we are given to understand about recharge time is correct then this is far to long! Blade range bit limited against its main competitor.
GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
"Ergonomically" designed (another way of saying interesting shape!) This is a smart, compact, well-balanced trimmer with "snap-on" detachable blades. Made in the Far East under the Lister label (we understand) it has a "specially engineered" permanent magnetic motor to create minimum noise and vibration, - the noise level is quite good, more a soft purr, and the vibration ratings are certainly good.
Not as light as The Wahl Pro Series Re-chargeable (a direct competitor) but it handles well. Already-tensioned detachable snap on blades avoid the fiddle of alignment and screw fixing. The use of plastic parts is said to keep the blades cool! Blade choice is rather limited when compared to the Wahl Pro-Series.
The ability to be able to switch to mains mode when the battery goes flat is a useful feature. The battery is said to be long lasting and can be re-charged many times. Written information on matters such as re-charge times is hard to find, but we are told by Lister UK that it is 8/9 hours with a clip time of 45 minutes - which if correct -is very disappointing to say the least!

This innovative and well-designed cordless trimmer offers continuous clipping from two interchangeable battery packs each providing a clip time of 60 minutes. Re-charge time is achieved comfortably within one and a half hours.
With a remarkably low noise factor and minimal vibration this is a superb trimmer for any horse owner will to pay that bit extra and seeking a high quality versatile "companion" trimmer to compliment any full body traditional machine they may have. Whilst the price may seem higher than many alternative trimmers - this really is in a class of it own and well worth the extra cost!
The angled clipping head is fitted with a "snap on" blade. The innovative blade design has built in adjustment giving five cutting adjustments from 0.1mm to 3mm with further cutting depth obtained from the attachment combs supplied. Moser claim that the blades will remain sharp for periods in excess of one year! Blades are capable of being re-sharpened several times.
For the horse owner - this is really exciting! - a big hearted trimmer which tackles those tough haired legs better than any tradition horse clipper most of which "grunt" the moment they are put to work in such areas!

No vibration, light, ultra low noise!
One of the great advantages of this amazing German made trimmer is you can within the blade head make 5 positional settings to suit the length you want your horse's leg hairs!
The "narrow" blade is a positive delight to use in all those leg crevices and the short handpiece ideal for "close to the ground" work!
We have tried and test on tough haired cobs - they really do work!

- Very hard to "knock" this one! We have knocked it slightly on a "touch" noisy hum in some models, and past minor faults as mentioned below
GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
When we first saw this little compact trimmer lurking about on a shelf in an office at Wahl UK - a good few years ago now - we immediately recognised its potential. How it has proved us right over the years! A highly versatile gem!
Used either in cordless or mains powered mode it has established a role for itself in almost every clipping field, finding favour with cattle folk (beef or dairy) horse owners, hundreds of vets, and pet owners. Very hard to fault this trimmer - it really is super!
Like any mass-produced product, and there are literally thousands sold to happy customers, it has had the odd problem from time to time but in the main it has remained trouble free. (One weak spot proved to be in the cable at the trimmer end where the cord enters if used excessively in mains mode.) Batteries, which can be re-placed, seem to last between 5/7 years with average use. If you run out of battery power you just plug in the charger adapter and carry on clipping! Fast re-charge well within the hour!
Its great strengths are versatility, comfortable to use, mobility, useable in both power modes (cordless or mains) Detachable type blades supported with a good blade range for a machine of its size, plus great value - especially with two blades!
