GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Supplied complete with hand piece, the "Merino Plus" is both a compact looking and fully functional suspended shearing machine unit made for the German firm Hauptner of Solingen, renowned exporters of livestock identification, animal clippers and specialist veterinary equipment.

Once again this represents a classic piece of German designed and high quality manufactured equipment suitable for the larger sheep farm, or sheep breeder.

The features that caught our eye when we saw the machine on demonstration was firstly the compact nature of the suspended motor and the general lightness even when fitted with pin drive shaft and handpiece - all not exceeding 7ks.

Whilst it is sold complete with the hand piece - a high engineered and reliable Heiniger (Swiss renouned shearing equipment company) product, it is available to be bought in varying forms.

The compact and lightweight motor generates 1050w of power and will meet most professional heavy duty needs with a variable speed between 1300 and 3900 rpm offering flexibility in shearing under a range of conditions. The power belt is self tensioning and maintenance free. The on/off switch is operated with a re-enforced extra long cord.

Unlike many of its competitors this machine is lighter, far more compact, and thus more portable yet it provides an adequate supply of heavy duty professional power for most farm shearing requirements.

The "Merino" is supplied in various packs:
As a complete unit, with standard pin drive flexible shaft, complete with Heiniger handpiece.
Motor only, complete with steel hanging bow and on/off pull cord
Drive shaft fitted with pin drive.

The Hauptner "Merino Plus" requires to be suspended at a correct height in keeping with all similar suspended shearing machines and due to its ultra compact size and weight is far easier than most to erect. It's exclusively meant to be used with pin drive shaft.

A really smart and fully functional shearing machine made by Heiniger of Switzerland, who have earned a solid International reputation for their professional shearing machines. Heiniger machines are increasing preferred and used by many of the top competition shearer's as well as an increasing number of farmer both in the UK and overseas.

After the very successful launch of the revolutionary 3-speed Heiniger EVO in the spring of 2003, Heiniger are now bringing on to the market the single speed sister-model - the Heiniger ONE.

Like the EVO, the ONE is also fitted with the unique electronic safety device, which stops the motor in case of a handpiece lockup. It also uses the same powerful motor. Once again, motor, capacitor and the electronic are protected by using an attractive and sturdy glass fibre reinforced housing. Installing the machine is a very easy task, thanks to its handgrip, which is compatible to most of the shearing gallows already existing out in the market.

The Heiniger ONE can also simply be attached with a cord, as the machine can swing since it's exclusively meant to be used with flexible drives.

Like the Heiniger EVO, the new Heiniger ONE will also bear the KEMA/KEUR safety compliance label, and to our knowledge- EVO and ONE are currently the only professional sheep shearing plants available worldwide which have been subjected such a strict safety test.

The Nexus is robustly construction; yet compact in size to handle when on the move. The motor and capacitor are built within the casing, which is designed to resist impact should it be dropped. The machine can be used either off the mains electricity supply, or from a generator due to the low starting current. The Nexus unit is extremely popular as a machine use in conjunction with shearing trailers.

Supplied with a flexible drive shaft, and Shogun handpiece. However for those who prefer a solid drive this is available as an optional extra. (It is important to state correct code when ordering!) Please note units supplied with a solid drive must have a suitable hanging bracket to prevent movement during use. These can be supplied separately and are compatible with the bracket, which was used with its predecessor the LISTER 3 SPEED.

The slim- line Shogun handpiece provides comfortable handling to give a smooth action with consistency. This handpiece has been recently improved to reduce vibration and now provides a greater degree of pressure on the cutter and comb. For even greater comfort and added coolness a "flock cover" can be obtained.

COMMENT: We owned a Lister shearing machine for over twenty years; it hung in the shearing shed every day of the year and sheared some 2500 really big Romney sheep and their lambs. Over that time it cost us £70,00 for a new sheath. 25 years later we sold it for £100.00. - and it is still shearing sheep! - NEED ONE SAY MORE!
