GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:

Aesculap Econom Plus has a long established and unrivalled reputations amongst the black and white dairy cattle showmen, as well as many beef exhibitors and horse owners.

It is considered a perfect machine for the contractor/owner who need versatility and reliability. The innovative design style featuring a slim shaped handpiece incorporates a combination of balance and lightness, to ensure the operator precision clipping to the highest standards. Excellent design features, which include a "locking" nut to hold the tensioning of the blades.

A heavy-duty machine, with a unique motor design, reasonably quiet, smooth running and vibration free it will clip all day without over heating. Fitted with all round air filters at the rear of the handpiece it is an easy machine to service and clean. Tensioning of the blades may need to be practised, especially if you do not use the machine a lot, although in fairness if you know what you are doing and allow for the finesse of tensioning it really very easy!

Spare parts can be a touch pricey, but if you want real quality you have to pay that bit extra! A sheep head to covert into a shearing machine can be obtained as an optional extra, and is easily fitted. Few machines in the heavy-duty section can equal the Aesculap Econom Plus ll on the range of blades, which it accepts, (including the Heiniger and Stewart Oster blade ranges.) making this machine capable of virtually any clipping task required.

Aesculap Econom Plus clippers have a long established and unrivalled reputation amongst both cattle and horse owners so when a new Aesculap appears one assumes it will be equally "mouth watering!"

The "Equip" is certainly no exception! Once you switch it on it oozes pure quality. The sound of that powerful motor as it purrs is like classical music to the ears! A combination of Aesculap design and engineering detail which makes their clippers so sought after and so long lasting!

See it in operation and you have little doubt this is how clipping an animal should be - effortless!
Hear it and you know your animal will feel at ease!

German designed and German made - it epitomises precision engineering! The tone of the motor is like no other - smooth and cool running, ultra low vibration, and powerful with low noise motor, and a blade range for every clipping eventually!

Aesculap are renowned for their high quality engineering in veterinary implements and their parent company in human surgical items - and as always the same high quality appears in their clipping products also.

Aesculap clippers have a long history of trouble free use with exceptional long levity. Many end users in both the cattle and horse clipping worlds still have in their possession and use regularly each season the legendary original SE models - some of which go back 30 years!

The "Equipe" is new to the UK market but has been held in high esteem by many all over Europe who have express complete satisfaction in its performance and reliability. It has achieved high ratings in various "Tried and Tested" examinations carried out by the German professional horse authorities and generally has come way ahead of other comparable makes.

We tested it ourselves and found it lived up to all that was claimed. Our horse used for the test was a big cob - an animal that had a distant dislike of any clippers and noise, yet from the moment he was introduced and experienced the "Equip" he was peacefully content and a full clip was completed with ease!

We did find starting off clipping the thick and coarser hair immediately above the hoof horn, in an upward direction slightly difficult with the length of the handpiece but found the problems could be overcome easily by side angling the machine for a few inches! Not a problem really if you make simple adjustment.

Any rate for this area with the detailed contours of a horse's leg and fetlock we frankly much prefer to use our battery powered MOSER Arco which is pure magic in such situations and get into all those awkward places far better than any of the traditional big clippers! Also the coarser the hair the more it likes it! Great tool for hairy legs and hogging!

Whether you clip racehorses, show jumper, dressage, cross country eventer's, hunters, hack, or ponies, the Aesculap Econom "Equipe" copes with all effortlessly whatever the breed!.

A heavy-duty machine, the unique motor design producing a low wattage but with excellent torque and power. Combined with a quiet, smooth running and vibration free feel, it will clip all day without overheating. Fitted with all two air filters at the rear of the handpiece it is an easy machine to service and clean. The head design with its oscillating carriage or yoke and twin oscillating springs either side is one much favoured by the top manufacturers and has stood the test of time over very many years! Tensioning of the blades like any machine is best practised a few times, especially if you do not use the machine a lot, although in fairness if you know what you are doing it really very easy! An experienced operator will hear a tone change in the motor and automatically know a slight adjustment is maybe needed.

Spare parts can be a touch pricey compared to some cheaper makes, but if you want real quality you have to be prepared to pay that bit extra! In a world when there are lots of so called "bargains" which turn out often to be anything but, it pays to buy well!

Look after this machine and your costs will be low!

Few machines in the heavy-duty section can equal the Aesculap on the range of blades, which it accepts, (including the Heiniger and Stewart Oster blade ranges.) making this machine capable of virtually any clipping task required. You would be amazed at the various industrial uses Aesculap machines perform worldwide on a daily basis.

Supplied in a good strong case, no divisions, so packing away is easy, and you don't have to screw the cable up into tiny bends and thus cause damage in time. A easily read but detailed manual with good large and explanatory diagrams is provided. Parts if needed are easily obtained. Normally next day delivery. Two or three days delay is the most you should ever experience should stocks be exhausted!

A point on blade sharpening! There is a wide selection of blade sharpening services on offer. Be selective as to where you send your blades for sharpening! Sharpening quality can vary!

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER NOTICE:
The labelling on the hard plastic carry cases indicated the Heiniger "Xperience" is electrically rated at 250 wattage, whilst the machine identification plate clearly states "200W." We understand this was a wattage error created when the machines were first submitted to the electrical rating agency in Switzerland for EU electrical Certification, and on subsequently test prior to official rating the machine was revised to 200W.

Therefore customer should ignore a number of plastic Heiniger cases which are still in circulation and which state on the outer case labelling - 250W. The CORRECT RATING for the HEINIGER "Xperience" is 200W


GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION :
A Swiss designed and engineered machine that is both clean lined and smart looking! Using a production model for testing purposes on horses we were impressed with the clean clip produced on a cob we used first. For this particular animal we selected the Heiniger 31F - a fine blade in preference to the No 31 standard, which we had initially started with as it was felt on the horse in question the fine blade produced the better clip due to the animal's coat texture. As with all animals it pays to experiment with blades!

This heavy duty machine will challenge some of the existing clippers not only on design feature, but in both length and good handling ability with its slimmer body shape. The head shape breaks with the style of the "Delta" as it also does with some of the existing traditional Heiniger clippers such as the "Handy" but retain the "tried and tested" internal head working parts such as the yoke assemble mechanism.

The handpiece body is nicely shaped, with a slender body casing made in a re-enforced fibreglass producing a smooth upper casing material in a nicely contrasting blue which complements the white name and traditional red "Heiniger" label. The lower casing is in black. The neck of the machine is shaped and this tends to promote a natural holding position. A raised "collar" separates your hand from contact with the alloy head.

Blade tensioning is relatively simple - as with most Heiniger machines. This is fully discussed in the manual enclosed and it is recommended to take time to read it before using the clipper. Whilst the majority of end users have no problem with attaching blades correctly, there are still a few who attempt the "impossible!" Heiniger/Aesculap/and Stewart Oster blades should be put on the clipper head so as to create a "half-moon" shape between the upper and lower plates when viewed from the side of the head.

The adjustment "knob" for tensioning the blades is a good size with positive and firm movement. DO NOT switch the motor on without blades fitted as this can lead to loss of the drive block or worse damage in the head mechanism. The rear positioned air filter slides back and should be cleaned on BOTH sides after each clipping, as the air filter is a vital component in enabling cooling air to reach the motor.
The clipper is operated and powered by a powerful permanent magnet motor which enables a very low running tone to be maintained. On nice feature is that when clipping one is aware that there is no disturbing airflow hence one is not saturated with small hair particles, as is the case with so many heavy duty clippers.

Read the manual and the instructions before you start any actual clipping - regular applications of oil as with any make of clipping/shearing machine are important to keep blades head cool when in use. Oiling every few minutes is important and requires being a discipline one adheres to - as is the case with most clippers. Correctly operated this machine produces some highly impressive "quality" clips, and has the ability to last for many years.

The Heiniger "Xperience" whilst fulfilling the demands of the cattle farming industry, will we feel sure like so many other Heiniger clippers before it , be a popular choice with many ladies in the horse clipping world, due to the comfortable handling, a slimmer handpiece, the shorter length and lightweight feel. The machine is a pleasure to use and one feel s confident with the power it transmits that whatever coat texture is before it - it will cope!.

The first three-speed heavy-duty clipper of its type, principally for cattle but also for horses machine. Made by Heiniger, a highly precision made machine, incorporating a number of new features designed to improve operational effectiveness. With the ability to be able to select one of three clipping speeds it will be appreciated by operators in many clipping theatres. A reliable machine, and which one rarely sees back for repair work.

The major feature of this machine is the clipping flexibility resulting from the adjustable three-speeds, which allows you to select either 2100/2800 or 3200 rpm. The powerful 180w motor is housed within a glass fibre reinforced polyamide body to reduce weight and operational fatigue. The special ventilation design directs hair away from the operator. At a touch over 12 inches the clipper has the appearance of being some what long and bulky and a touch "awesome" for many lady operators, however at 1.6 kilos it is perhaps not as heavy as its appearance would suggest.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
German made machine, very well engineered with reliable performance. The powerful motor producing 30,000 rpm when not under load gives a smooth low-level running sound. The aluminium head housing has a special dual purpose ventilating system for motor, gearbox and the cutters and combs.

The gearbox has a double step gear, which is capsuled against dust and hair with the gears being permanently lubricated by the new "whispering" oscillating cutter drive system. A sheep head (optional extra) can be fitted with ease within a few minutes, giving the machine extra versatility.

An attractive machine rather spoilt, in our opinion, by a clipper head, which is best described as being more like a sheep head as on a shearing machine. We feel this gives the impression of being bulky and not of "easy handling!" From an engineering point it may well have good merits, but from the end users point it appears unnecessarily bulky and weight.

We continue to remain critical of any clippers with the on/off switch located in the rear. We believe this is detrimental to the operator's safety in an emergency situation especially when large and sometimes unpredictable animals are involved.

A big powerful German made machine with a history of good solid reliable performance and nice quality clips, but for ladies clipping horses this is a bulky machine which you will be fed up with after an hour or more of clipping!

Good machine for the commercial farmer for cleaning up cattle, and one of the easiest to put a sheep head on for an hour or so of dagging!

At 2000 double cutting strokes per minute and even fitted with a new 20 blade fan we feel the motor is still too noisy for many horses. A reduction in the weight of around 15% helped to reduce what was a heavy appliance of the "old school" type machines.

Fitted with an aluminium head housing, this clipper has a unique dual purpose ventilating system, which effectively cools the motor, gearbox and the cutters and comb. The completely capsuled gearbox protects against dust and hair with the gears being permanently lubricated under vacuum. An oil distributor in the clipper head leads the oil to where it is most required. Slide out air filter makes for easy cleaning.

The on/off switch is located on the side at the rear and is not readily accessible in relation to operator's safety in an emergency situation especially where large and unpredictable animals are involved.

- Spoilt by the weight, the noise, and a not particularly slim handling shape. Good in its day but now a last "century" product.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
A well-engineered powerful clipper, with a long history of reliable performance.
Having been around a good few years it has stood the test of time, and one sees few back in for repairs. The powerful 170-watt motor producing an ultra efficient heavy-duty clipper, which will afford the operator many hours of reliable clipping and is cool running even in prolonged situations.

Useful for a commercial cattle farmer machine cleaning up cattle, especially if fitted with a "Wizard "blade, which also allows it to clip sheep. Features such as easy maintenance, 5 meters of hard-wearing two core rubber sheathed cable, double insulation and built in thermal over load gives added safety and peace of mind.

A sheep head can be fitted to this machine - alternatively fit a "wizard" blade, which will clip both sheep and cattle. Especially useful for those with dirty store cattle.

However that apart, it is awesome in size, uncomfortable to hold, noisy, and of a weight few users will feel entirely comfortable with, especially if you able to compared it with a selection of other more user friendly clippers.

Ladies clipping horses will find that after an hour or more of clipping with such a heavy machine they would appreciate a lighter clipper.

If you like 'em big then this is the clipper! Not many can beat this one on size! Ideal for building up the arm muscles!

However forget for a moment the size, this is a tough no nonsense "All-American" heavy-duty machine which will cope with most things thrown at it. It is a pretty good buy when you consider the quality and the way in which it is packaged and supplied.

Widely used in the UK and Europe it has a popular following in many parts of the world both with farmers and horse owners. Probably not know by many, but also a popular machine for use in the "industrial" world, where it is used for a range of clipping purposes for which it was never designed! Use in a way that is a credit to its manufacturer!

Certainly one of the most attractive carrying cases we have seen (Large enough to pack the "sandwiches" as well! On seeing the carrying case alone you would buy it! Great for riding schools and big stables.

The superior engineering qualities ensure the smooth running and trouble free nature of this clipper and we rate it strongly as a "positive buy" for the average commercial user, (One rarely sees them back for breakdowns or repairs!) A snap out filter provides for easy cleaning. A "man sized" knob on the head assembly adjusts blade tensioning.

Despite the perhaps rather old-fashioned styling, and the two vast side "knobs" which protrude from the side and house the carbon brushes, this is still a great no nonsense machine, whether used for cattle or horses. Buy one of these and it will probably out live your animals and you!

Whilst the available Stewart Oster blade range is not the greatest, it strength must surely lie in the fact the design of the clipper head allows for use of both the Aesculap and Heiniger blade, thus giving it a unique range of choice.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Produced by Wolseley of the UK, another really well engineered machine but with a distinct "last century" look, which rather sums it up! Heavy and none too comfortable nor particularly quiet either, but in fairness it has a reputation for tolerating hard work.

In the days before the arrival of sleeker and lighter machines from Aesculap and Hauptner both the Falcon and the Harrier held a good proportion of market sale, and in fairness they do still hold on to some loyalty with many customers. But with successive years as new and more innovative clippers arrive from Europe and these continue to improve both in design, weight, and noise level, the Falcon and the Harrier continue to hold less and less appeal.

The "Falcon" is similar to the "Harrier" but due to the gearing design clips at a slightly faster speed and is therefore a suitable choice for those clipping stables and larger horse yards. The machine is fitted with a safety strap, and has a thermal overload cut out switch for added safety. The specially designed air baffle blows the hair away from the operator. The air-cooled motor and ventilated head ensures cool running and prolonged life.

A sheep-shearing head can be easily fitted by the removal of two screws. The sheep head must be fitted with Wolseley A5 blades only. This machine can be supplied in 110volts/140watt in complete kit with case if required.
