SHOW BLOOM - Light colour - 1 litre SHOW BLOOM - Light colour - 1 litre
Product code: 1635

A specially formulated Bloom additive, which is recommended to be used in conjunction with Purl Dip in a dipping bath situation.

The fleeces of sheep suitably dipped or sprayed with a solution of Show Bloom will be enhanced and coloured to whatever degree is required. Used especially for shows and sales to give that "biscuit" oatmeal colour as much favoured by the Suffolk bred.

The container holds 1 litre and it is normally recommended that 500ml (half the container) should be added to 250 gallon of dip clean water. Make sure you stir the dip contents well to ensure a good mix! If you require a slightly darker colour add small additional amounts until you arrive at the desired colour.

Care should be taken to use in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer and it is often wise to test a small amount to see the results before "plunging" your prize exhibit in the tub!

The colour will completely fade within a period of approximately twelve weeks. The colour is fully scourable and can be washed out with soap and clean water.

LE SHAPE - 1 litre - Concentrated LE SHAPE - 1 litre - Concentrated
Product code: 1548

Many down breeds such as the Suffolk's, Hampshire's, Southdown's, Romney's and Rayland's are shown in a style which requires the wool to be "set". Generally they will be shown in a "shorn" with a fibre length of about 1 to 2 inches. The exhibitor seeks to give the wool a "firm" appearance and may wish to introduce and hold an element of "shape" without altering the natural style.

Le Shape for the tighter Body!

Traditionally used at virtually every show this is the stuff of champions! By spraying the fleece as you card, you can build up the required degree of "hold" to give you the close texture, which is the hallmark of the quality show animal. Now available either "ready mixed for immediate use" or in "concentrate form to be diluted before use" Apply continuously to the fleece until you achieve the desired effect. Further application can be applied, and no washing out of the fleeces after showing is necessary.

GROOMING TIP!
Once you have completed both the trimming and carding, finally before entering the ring use a "flattening " board to give that perfectly flat back and to shape the sides. Sprinkle a small amount of grooming oil on the board and spread over the surface. Using the board "iron" the back flat, the oil will give a "natural" lustre to the wool.

NB. A flattening board is a piece of smooth wood - ideally oak or elm about the size of an A4 sheet of paper and about 3/8th -inch thick, with a handle in the centre Looks rather like a plasters trowel but a bit larger! These were always used in the 1920-60's by the old showmen of the day.
