GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
At first sight an almost identical copy of the AGC two-speed model, but the principle difference between the two-speed and the "Super" two-speed is the increase in power as illustrated by the number of cutting strokes per minute.
The "Super" two-speed motor has been upgraded to 3300spm (an increase of 1300 spm against the two speed model) and in the higher speed capacity to 4100spm. (The two-speed model only reached 3400spm). In all other respects the "Super" adopts the same popular, well tried and tested features, which have made the two-speed clipper one of the leading popular mains, power dog clippers.
Whilst a relative new model to the market place, the "Super" two-speed has under gone extensive field trials not only by ourselves with selected professional groomers, but with many others both in the UK and the US. Potential end users can therefore have confidence in purchasing what is a very professional machine.
The Andis blade range offers a complete coverage for most grooming situations, and those making a change of machine will find the Andis AGC "Super" 2-speed equally at home with Oster or indeed most other detachable type blades. Sadly the sole Andis wide blade is not one of the greatest. We still continue to hope clippers of this quality will one day be sold in a hard case and not a soft box!

Made in the USA - an impressive professional clipper with good performance. One of the top selling professional dog groomer's clippers which is fast replacing traditional Oster machines in the work place.
Good design features incorporating an attractive slim shaped and compact handpiece gives a combination of balance and lightness, to ensure the operator a comfortable clipping operation. In addition and very important, it is cool running, even in prolonged working situations - an essential requirement for the busy grooming parlour!
Blade attachment is easy to operate, smooth and crisp. Under prolonged use the motor remains cool running, with an acceptable noise level and little vibration at both speed levels, making this clipper a good choice for any really busy dog-grooming parlour. Cleaning and servicing the head has been made easy by good and thoughtful design.
Low maintenance is a feature of this machine.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
A professional flexi drive shaft driven horse/dog clipper from made by Double K Industries of the USA.
Not the type of machine you see frequently in use, but that has more to do with marketing than products fault! Talk to anyone who has one, or has used a friends - they all tell you the same - "a super, quiet, easy to handle and very reliable clipper!"
Aimed at the dog groomer and horse owner/clipper market this is a machine designed to take all makes of "detachable" A5 type blades, and which bears a strong resemblance to the Oster A5 machine in shape and size, however that's when the resemblance stops - the Oster is known for its frequent over heating, this machine is beautifully cool running!
One can see the value of this powerful clipper when clipping alpacas - having the power unit clipped to ones belt and the very low noise level together with the excellent power make it a very desirable tool for shearing of the heavy coats!
The different - non-conventional way of clipping, no cables but using a flexible drive shaft is in the same way identical to shearing sheep. The motor control box is worn off the belt, but can if preferred be hung from a beam or ceiling point. The cable from the control box to the converter unit is just under 11-feet (3.3m.) The variable speed adjustment dial is a valuable facility especially when clipping some large animals, or those who display a nervous tendency toward being clipped. By starting at the lower speed, one can increase by as many as ten stages to the maximum power output, although most end users prefer one speed - the fastest!
Anyone who has sheep shearing experience will immediately recognise the sheer convenience of clipping this way with a shaft! Those who have clipped with more conventional clippers and cable may find the more ridged shaft slightly off putting to start with until they have done a little!
One you have a few miles under your belt you will love it!!
The clipper is not supplied with a blade allowing for the flexibility of use. If you are intending to use it on horses, or alpacas then we would strongly suggest you select either an Aesculap or Moser wide 2.4mm detachable blades for optimum performance.
PLEASE NOTE:
This product is supplied with a 3-pin electrical plug. The 3-pin system is only for use in the UK only - for European or International use a further adapter is required which is not supplied with the charger unit.
Adapters of this nature can be usually purchased from any electrical outlet in the country for which it is intended to use the product.
Customers from the USA should be aware that 240v machines are not suitable for the US electrical power supply. Clippers specifically made to 110v are need for the USA.
SUITABLE BLADE RANGES:
This clipper is not supplied with a blade owing to the fact that as it accepts all detachable A5 type and whatever blade it was packaged with is not likely to be the most preferred one.
This clipper takes all ANDIS/AESCULAP/MOSER/OSTER/LAUBE/THRIVE/WAHL detachable A5 blades.
For full body clipping of either horses or alpacas, we recommend you to purchase either the Aesculap or Moser 2.4mm WIDE detachable blades, which are considered more suited to horse coats of most breeds.

The Laube 503 is identical to the 513 models, except that it has a two-speed motor rather than a variable speed motor. Often used with a wide blade on horses or show cattle - beef or dairy, and popular in busy dog grooming parlours.
The 503 Laube has the built-in facility of two operating speeds, a standard speed for precision clipping and a faster clip speed for those who want to speed up the operation. This can be a useful facility when confronted with a variation in fibre texture. An important feature of these machines is the constant cool running ability even under prolonged use.

From Laube USA, a small clipper of innovative design and which if it performs in accordance with the manufacturer's claims, ("Guaranteed to out perform any other clipper!!" - Bold statement!) would no doubt have considerable appeal to many horse owners as well as dog groomers.
However we would excise cautions with regard to full body horse clipping as whilst the machine is very small and thus attractive from the weight, noise and "grip" factor, one needs to see a history of performance and reliability before acclaiming it an outstanding success. All to often clippers from this "stable" have experienced problems.
Considerably more expensive than many similar dog clippers, it could become popular with groomers. The noise level when the machine is used at the lower speeds is ideal for any nervous animals. Ultra light, cool running, with an attractive slim handpiece, it is delightfully comfortable to handle, and affords effortless clipping over prolonged periods.
The variable speed system, offers the choice of pre-setting the speed at which you wish to clip. (A useful facility when confronted with a variation in hair texture.). Those considering using the clipper for horses will need to purchase the wide size #10 blade.
Anyone venturing use on a horse apart from facial trimming would be well advised to consider using the Moser 2.3mm blade - either ceramic coated or the steel version. We consider this blade is one of the best available for any degree of body clipping. Thicker coated cobs and natives are best tackled with a more professional appliance.
When clipping horses it is a wise precaution to be equipped with a spare blade as all types of blades can go blunt at a moments notice!

Oster A5 clippers have for many years been used in many professional dog-grooming parlours, however due to a growing discontent with continuous overheating problems, other machines have eroded their market, and not least of these being the now more superior Andis and Moser products.
Another very annoying feature as far as the end user is concerned is the product being sold without a blade (reminds one of the "dark ages" when electric things were sold without a plug!)
The two-speed version offers the facility of a slow and faster speed, which has its merits, although most groomers go at the fastest speed available! Reasonably lightweight and compact the handpiece is neither as slim nor as comfortable as others in its class. The powerful 35-watt motor copes with all parlour-clipping tasks. GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Introduced in 2002, a powerful 50-watt small clipper said to be suitable as a light duty horse or professional dog groomer's clippers.
As a light duty horse clipper this machine is refreshingly smaller and more manoeuvrable, although compared to the average dog clipper it is slightly larger and a little heavier. The "ribbed" hand piece was uncomfortable and rather "last century." The machine accepts most detachable A5 type blades. Thrive blades are fitted with a ceramic cutter which is said to stay sharp longer. We did not notice any great difference on our tested model!
On test a number of users complaining about weight and size, but all agreed it had "power." Horse clipping trials on a medium coat of a thoroughbred suggested that the Moser 2.3 blade was superior to the Thrive blades. We found on both sound and clip performance it failed to match the Moser KM1 or Max 45. The rear mounted on/off switch is not readily accessible in emergency situations
Any clipper within this price bracket will attract interest from the horse market especially, but it will find some serious competition from several less wattage rated machines. As for a dog groomer's clipper Thrive have never cornered any large part of the market, and we don't think this model will necessarily change the situation!
Any horse users in particular will need to rethink the speed at which they clip when using this type of machine or indeed any clipper of the type fitted with "detachable" blades - whether ceramic or steel. You do need a relaxed approach to your clipping speed - if not tramlines will soon appear. Short strokes are better than longer ones, and work across the hair as well as with the "grain".
The main reason for this is the choice of wide blades available. Compared to the number of blades for dog grooming the choice is limited, particularly so when dealing with some of the more "hairy" and heavy coated native horse breeds! The Moser 2.3mm - CeraBlade or the 2.3mm steel wide blades - are often found to be the best currently available.
When using the "detachable" blade style clippers one should be aware no matter how good they are they are not of the same power as a typical traditional type machines. Invariably one is using this type of clipper because the horse objects for whatever reason to a traditional noisy machine. Seen in this role as an alternative to not clipping or heavy sedation they are extremely valuable and with proper use and application perform as well as any traditional clipper, producing some quality clips on a range of horse or cattle breeds.
Practical experience as with most clipping of any animal is invaluable! Knowledge is never complete - no matter how experienced the operator!
When doing horses - full body clipping - two blades are a wise precaution, just in case one suddenly goes blunt, which in fairness can happen with any make of clipper! For cattle or horse's heads and intricate parts of the legs (udders in the case of dairy cows) one can select a suitable blade from an extensive range of "narrow" blades.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
The first professional dog clipper from Wahl of their own making. This is not a Moser German made product, as the packaging would have you believe! Could it be Wahl lack confidence in their own made products?
Aimed at the professional dog groomer market this is a detachable blade machine, which will accept most other makes of detachable A5 type blades. Supplied with a size#10 Wahl "Competition Series" 1.8mm blade (These are not everybody's favourite blades - we would prefer it supplied with a Moser blade which certainly clipped better when used on test!)
We were disappointed in the vibration levels, which featured strongly in test users opinions. Also, and probably nit picking maybe, but the aggravating "barber" noise tone could be highly irritating in a grooming parlour situation! The variable speed adjustment may be valuable although most groomers prefer one speed - flat out!
Production models we have inspected appear to have no electrical identification data plate fixed to the body casing, information regarding wattage or voltage, nor any indication of EU - CE rating as is the case with most other professional machines of this nature. (The CE rating is admittedly given on the box packaging and certain information can be read off the "switching Power Supply plug - not that any wattage rating is mentioned!)
It is too early to make any serious pronouncements regarding the expected performance especially as this is the first real Wahl made professional machine we have seen. It will have to compete against some well-established "peers" and has yet to face the serious competition of the forthcoming Aesculap entry into the professional dog-grooming arena!
To give the clipper credit it handles well, the material of the casing is pleasant to the hand, and it is both compact and lightweight. The position of the on/off switch is not ideal for any sudden emergency, and we fail to understand why manufacturers cannot grasp this point and will persist in putting switches in the most awkward places! The blade release catch is nice and positive and a decent size. Various makes of blades all appear to engage well and the clipper head is nicely protected against hair being sucked into the integral part of the motor.
