Halters - Cotton Showing - deluxe
Mrs Helen Woodhouse - deceased (July 2010) .
After a recent major operation sadly Helen Woodhouse died.
Helen was responsible for many years supplying Peasridge and the Showing exhibitors both in the UK and Overseas with the finest made cotton deluxe show halters to be purchased.
Helen was one of the very few country folk dedicated to making a quality product rather than the being profit motivated.
I'm sure many who have and still do use one or more of Helen's halters or lead reins have little or no idea of the work involved - the job of making halters to the high standard Helen demanded was no easy task especially when forced to make and twist the rope since the supplier of that aspect of the job ceased - which incidently requires a 300ft building in which to house the equipment!
The many hours involved and the painstaking work is not attractive and few are prepared to be involved.
We knew Helen - not only as a long standing business supplier but as a personal friend - she often cared for my German Shepherds and our other dogs when we were away on holiday or ourselves at various Shows. Always a very caring person, a great lover of animals, and most reliable person to run things when you were away - she will be sadly missed not only by her family for whom our sympathies are extended, but to the many thousands of exhibitors around the world who have stood in a ring on some showground with a "hopeful" on the end, and either had their dreams shattered or experienced the thrill of being placed!
Alas sadly - nothing stays the same!
With the passing of Helen Woodhouse so another superior made product range will disappear - sadly there are no placement (persons) to equal Helens standards, dedicatiojn and the finished quality of her work.
We have stocks currently but once they are exhausted - they will not be replaced!

These halter are intended for show ring use and not general farm use.
De-luxe quality cotton halters are fully machine washable.
The fixed noseband measures an average of 13/14-inches from A to B on the diagram shown.
The useable lead or tying length averages 5ft.
Suitable for most young calves and several of the larger ram breeds.
