GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
An attractive, well-designed cordless professional small animal and dog groomer's clipper, which although not intended for horses could also be used on certain fine coated breeds who are really nervous about being clipped.
American made, this is a machine which will have an appeal to many mobile groomers, as well as veterinary practices. One major point in its favour is the reasonable cost of acquiring a second battery to give "continuous" clipping.
Good design features incorporating a comfortable shaped handpiece which when fitted with the battery is well balanced and relatively light. Blade attachment is easy to operate, smooth and crisp. Under prolonged use the motor remains cool running, with an acceptable noise level and little vibration. The on/off switch is perfectly placed for easy operation in an emergency.
The machine is supplied with an Andis #10 "Ceramic Edge" blade. The blade consists of a steel comb blade and a ceramic cutter. Ceramic blades are considered to run cooler and stay sharper for a longer period. It should be noted however that there is a "running in" period before these advantages are evident, and therefore you will not notice the benefits immediately.
The charger is easy to operate and incorporates several new features in advanced technology (Sensa-Charge - a unique system that charges the battery to maximum charge every time.) LED lights indicate the state of the battery, and an innovative system allows a "refresh" to condition the battery. Supplied in neat hard carrying case.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
A precision made Swiss cordless machine using some of the best and latest components and engineered to a very high standard. Throughout the Heiniger range one sees a record of constant reliability - this is no exception!
The Heiniger cordless clipper offers the freedom from trailing cables whilst still maintaining a reasonable power output. (Stated as being equal to 100 watts) The clip time of about one hour on a single charge, whilst compatible with other makes in its class, is still disappointing, as more battery time is certainly needed to clip a horse.
The motor produces a cutting speed of 2100 rpm, which compares favourably to a mains motor power of 100w. The relatively slim design of the handpiece creates a well-balanced handling for a machine of its size, and there is no noticeable feel of excessive vibration or battery weight. The smooth running motor emits a low noise level making it a popular choice for those with nervous horses.
The "on/off" switch is not readily accessible for emergence situations. Features such as easy maintenance, and the ability to be able to use both the Aesculap, Stewart-Oster, DeLaval and Supershear's full blade range extends widely the clipping capabilities of this product both in the cattle and horse fields as well as placing well beyond other similar type machines.

- Nice machine very well made but incorporating a "cumbersome" looking clipper head. More important is the relatively poor clip time on a single charge, and the fact that to clip the average horse you are realistically going to need a second battery or take a lot of "tea breaks!"
GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
A well-engineered compact German made machine giving a good reliable performance and nice quality clip, but for a modern cordless machine a really disappointing clip time of barely an hour! One really seeks a longer clipping time especially in the case of horses. For the horse owner clipping with this machine, a second battery becomes a must, but they don't come cheap!
At 2000 double cutting strokes per minute the motor emits a smooth note at a reasonable noise level whilst giving optimal cutting power. Fitted with a light aluminium head housing, and the new "whispering" oscillating cutter drive system.
The on/off switch was located in a good accessible position for operator's safety in an emergency situation being fitted in the centre of the handgrip and on the underside.
One has to comment on the strange style of clipper head, which resembles that of a sheep-shearing machine rather than a horse/cattle clipper. It might seem to imply a degree of awkwardness and certainly does not give the impression of "easy handling!" It is certainly a style unique to this manufacturer.

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Introduced as the successor to the popular "green" bodied Mk 1 Oster Power pro (A few other colours existed as well) the clipper head and hand grip shape basically remains unchanged other than for the casing covering which has been clad with a pleasant soft "non slip" material with a rubberise feel. The new battery attachment is however slimmer and now follows the shape of the clipper. One instantly notices the improved balance the new styled battery affords compared to the rather poorly balance earlier Mk 1 model!
Clipper and battery are claimed to be around 15% lighter than the earlier model! Oster state that the clipper drive lever delivers a more powerful sweep as a result of being driven by a slightly more powerful motor - thus it is claimed the Mk2 clipper gives a greater and superior cutting performance! The benefit of this would presumably be particularly noticeable when clipping for example, a horse using a wide detachable blade.
Unlike the way it is normally supplied in the UK, we offer the Oster Power Pro complete with TWO batteries (In the US it is also sold with two batteries for continuous clipping!) We feel customers will require the same - continuous clipping facility - rather than have the added expense of purchasing an additional battery at the time of purchase or later!
Considering Oster still supply their mains powered A5 clippers in boxes, it is refreshing, to see a case of such quality being supplied with their cordless machine! The clipper is beautifully packaged in a spacious lightweight aluminium case - weighing fully loaded - clipper battery and accessories - a mere 2.4kg (if you buy from Peasridge due to the fact it is then supplied with not one but two batteries!) Carefully padded with foam cut out compartments (unlikely these will last long with normal use but they look good when new!) - both clipper and the entire accessories are stored safely. All very nicely designed and laid out!

The battery unit is improved with the introduction of the new type of NIMH battery units.
For those who want to know…………. the nickel-metal hydride battery, abbreviated NiMH, is a type of rechargeable or storage battery similar to another well know battery type the "Nickel-cadmium" (NiCd) but using a hydrogen-absorbing alloy for the negative electrode instead of cadmium. As in NiCd batteries, the positive electrode is nickel oxyhydroxide (NiOOH) A NiMH battery can have two to three times the capacity of an equivalent size NiCd. However, compared to the lithium-ion battery the volumetric energy density is lower and self-discharge is higher.
One useful feature of these batteries is they do not have the annoying memory feature as often common with some earlier types of batteries, but you will need to recharge and discharge these batteries several times before they reaches their "optimum" performance when first purchased! Also if the battery is not used for a period of time, or has been stored away unused re-charging will again be necessary.
Whilst the manufacturer claims the battery delivers "state of the art intelligence charging to maximum its working life, they do add that every few months if you are not a regular user you should switch on (remover the blade first) and run the clipper until the battery is fully discharged. Then recharge accordingly. This could well apply to horse owners, who engage in seasonal clipping with a long spell of in-action in between. If you are the typical busy dog groomer or veterinarian and use a cordless machine, well you probably need not bother!
When fully discharged the normal recharge time for the battery is between 50 and 60 minutes. You can check the running status of your battery at any time by placing it in the slot provided on the charger and observing the LED light in the centre.

Red blinking light - You need to invest in a new battery - Red light says - "kaput"
The charger is far more compact and smaller than the old black charger of the previous model, and the two slots for spare blades have been done away with! Of course this is all about a single battery so only one recharging slot also!
There is a connection point provided on the rear on the charger for a plug to power the recharge unit off any 12v supply such as in a vehicle. This is not currently available in the UK but expected shortly when it will be available an optional extra - at extra cost!
A slot in the groove of the charger assists in ensuring the battery is correctly offered into the slot for recharging - so no fear of getting it incorrect! So easy you could do it in the dark!
As with the previous Mk1 model you can re-charge with the clipper handpiece attached to the battery or just the battery on its own. One small but useful as well as thoughtful addition to the charger unit is that a set of four tiny suction pad feet have been added to the underside of the charger to ensure it stays put and does not slip off a shelf or work surface!
Many professionals will buy it and make a good choice in the present market situation!
